The Microsite Strategy Playbook, free for the first 10 readers, with the path for software companies marked out: six plays, the prompts to run, and a bonus kit that builds your first free tool with an AI coding agent.

85-page Playbook: first 10 free, then $97 Free-Tool Microsite Kit, free Claude Code or Codex
The six SaaS plays

Reach the searchers your main site cannot.

Each play targets one group of people with one job to do, then sends the right ones into your product. Prompt 10.3 in the Playbook tells you which play fits your product first.

Free tool sites

People use the tool, then upgrade to your app to save, send or automate. The bonus kit on this page builds one.

Template libraries

Every template ends with the same honest line: do this automatically in your product.

Use-case sites

One industry, its own words, its exact workflow. Scheduling software for dental clinics, not scheduling software.

Integration sites

Guides for connecting two popular tools. They catch people with a technical problem you already solve.

Comparison hubs

Buyers who are deciding right now. Fair, sourced, and clear about who makes the product.

Education sites

Glossaries and explainers that earn links and AI citations, then turn readers into trials.

Your path through the Playbook

Same system. Your column.

Page 5 of the Playbook has this map. Here is the SaaS column: what to run, and what to skip.

Module 10Start here, not at the end. The opportunity finder picks your first play with evidence from live search results.Prompt 10.3
Module 1Stress-test the idea. Pick a brandable domain, or decide on a folder of your main site (section 1.4).Prompts 1.1, 1.2
Module 3Skip the place groups. Mine G2 and Capterra reviews for your buyers' words, and competitor sitemaps for gaps.Prompts 3.6, 3.7
Modules 4, 5Use-case, feature and comparison pages. Skip the location prompts.Prompt 5.5
Module 6SoftwareApplication schema. UTM tags on every link to the app. Track the trial click.Prompts 6.5, 6.6
Module 7Comparisons and alternatives first: fair, sourced, and clear that you make one of the options.Prompt 7.5
Module 8Software directories, integration partners, and a free tool as the link magnet.Prompts 8.2, 8.7
Module 9Read Search Console every 2 to 4 weeks. Count trials by UTM campaign, page by page.Prompts 9.1, 9.2
Your free bonus

The Free-Tool Microsite Kit.

Eleven pages and seven prompts that take you from an idea to a live tool: picked with evidence, built by an AI coding agent, wrapped in a page that ranks, and measured to the sign-up.

S.1 and S.2 Pick the tool

A shortlist scored against five tests, then a hard look at the tools that rank today and what each one gets wrong.

S.3 The one-page spec

Every input, every formula, three worked examples and every edge case. The examples become the automated tests.

S.4 The build prompt

For Claude Code or Codex. Browser only, no login, no server, tests that prove the math. Nothing the user types leaves the browser.

S.5 The tool page

The words around the tool: how the math works, a worked example, where the number can mislead. This is what ranks and gets quoted.

S.6 The upgrade path

Four events and one funnel: visits, starts, results, upgrade clicks. You see the trials each tool brings.

S.7 The launch list

Real directories, communities and resource pages, each with its rules. Plus a launch week checklist.

Microsite or folder? Read this first. A separate microsite is not always the right answer for a software company. If your main domain is strong and the topic fits it, a folder on your own site often ranks faster. The Playbook says so in section 1.4, and every prompt in it works for a folder as well as for a new domain. Build a separate site when the idea needs its own brand, its own audience or a name people search for.

Questions

Before you start.

Should this be a separate microsite, or a folder on our main site?
Often a folder. If your main domain is strong and the topic fits it, a section such as yourproduct.com/tools/ usually ranks faster, because it inherits your authority. Build a separate microsite when the idea needs its own brand, its own audience or a name people search for. Section 1.4 of the Playbook walks you through the choice.
Do you have SaaS case studies?
Not yet, and we will not invent one. Our measured results so far come from local service websites, and they are on the results page with honest notes. The six SaaS plays in this track are the standard ones software companies use. The Playbook gives you the process and the prompts, and the UTM tags tell you exactly how many trials each page brings.
Can we use competitor names?
In fair comparison content, yes: say clearly that you make the product, state only facts you can source, and show where the competitor is the better fit. Never put a competitor's trademark in a domain name. If in doubt, ask a lawyer.
Is the Playbook free?
For the first 10 readers, yes: the full 85-page Playbook, its 66 prompts and the Free-Tool Microsite Kit. After that the Playbook is $97, and the kit stays included. You also pay if you want the AI Agent Team that runs the system with you, which is $197.
